C.Scale is a team of architects, data scientists, and software engineers focused on solving real problems on real projects. Before C.Scale was a stand-alone company, Co-founder Jack Rusk and Brad Jacobson led sustainability and climate strategy at EHDD, an award-winning sustainability-focused architecture firm based in San Francisco.
The data models behind C.Scale originated with work Jack did at the Yale School of the Environment, where he was wrestling with how to streamline life cycle assessment for building sector practitioners. As a architect and partner at EHDD, Brad saw the usefulness of these models in evolving net zero energy to net zero whole life carbon design. Through this collaboration, C.Scale was born.
An early version of C.Scale was instrumental in EHDD winning and delivering the net zero whole life carbon AIA Headquarters renovation. Now, C.Scale aims to make these data and approaches available to practitioners everywhere.
